Sustainability

Sustainability and the drive towards more sustainable living is a central part of the Elsmore philosophy.  We seek to achieve this both in terms of the homes we create and the way in which we create them.

The majority of Elsmore homes today are built on previously used sites where older inefficient buildings are in need of replacement.  Through the use of good design and architecture we enhance these areas, working with the natural qualities of the site to create a home that compliments its surroundings.

With 40% of the UK’s CO² emissions created domestically, we aim to minimise energy demand within our homes by building highly efficient, eco-friendly timber frame properties.  This not only lessens the impact on the planet and reduces our carbon footprint but also benefits the homeowner through lower energy bills and running costs.

As we look towards the government’s target for zero carbon homes in 2016, Elsmore strives towards sustainability through the use of renewable energy  technologies. To date we have incorporated many of these new and exciting technologies in our homes and are recognised by the local authorities as a source of expertise in the field.
